Spello is an ancient and small town (about 9000 people live here) that is, without any doubt, one of the most lovely and well-preserved italian "borgo". Entirely built on the side of Mt.Subasio, about 35 km far from Perugia, its alleyways, its small squares and the magnificent landscape you could observe from Porta Venere (one of the main gates of the city, in the photo on the top) make it an oustanding heritage for the Region of Umbria. You will never forget the joy of "getting lost" in the city centre, discovering the uncountable small typical restaurants and the many flowering balconies: you will easily become actor of the ancient traditions of the people who live here. Remember to take some time to taste the delicious Umbrian food, always served with one of the best olive oils in the world.
